Unexpected graffiti: new life of catalan floors

Interblocs” is an art project of Javier de Riba with one specific aim: breathe life to the floors of Tarragona. Taking benefit of useless spaces between buildings, de Riba create true marvels, transforming careless floors into bright and colorful tiles. His work process is worth to see.

It is his way of reporting that those parts of the city are completely forgotten and that they are actually ”no-man’s land”, invisibles for everyone but for those who live there, who tend to be low-income people. Mosaics’ colors are in contrast with the abandonment around and have attracted the attention of neighbors and visitors. So, the aim is got: make the problem visible.
